Our Setup

We love trying to make the parking lot as comfortable and awesome as possible.  Here are a few of our favorite things, along with a link (if applicable) to reviews, etc.  We are always adding to our bag of tricks that will make the #publicparty that much more fun and unique.  Stay tuned for more, including a handy list for you to print out on what we would suggest as the basics for your own tailgate!  This list will be updated with some pictures as well as more items, definitely a work in progress.

The Basics

  • Canopies – The style and brands vary, but we rock some basic blue 10 x 10 canopies along with some Denver Bronco branded ones.  Normally, we have 3 to provide shade and weather relief.
  • Our Bar – Yes, you read that correctly…we have a bar that we bring with us.  It’s specifically a Best of Times Bar and we absolutely love it.  Maybe the most eye-catching thing we have complete with an umbrella, bar stools and cooler!
  • Music – What fun is a tailgate with some block-rocking music?
  • Generator – Not just for powering speakers, TVs and charging phones, we like to use crock pots full of great food to enjoy!
  • Chairs – Who doesn’t love a good camping chair?  We have all kinds, although sitting isn’t the best way to enjoy this group!
  • Grill – Duh.
  • Coolers – Nobody likes warm drinks!
  • Ol’ Blue- The official trailer of the Sons of Mile High!  If you haven’t seen this thing, come check it out.
  • The Cheebus – It’s a Colorado thing, but check out Chris’ bus!
  • TVs – What fun is tailgating without watching the early games and getting that fantasy update fix?
  • The Bud Light recliner.  No joke, we have a recliner.  First come, first serve!
  • SWAG!  We LOVE giving out the swag we get from our awesome sponsors, come get some for yourself!

The Games

  • Beer Pong – Probably our favorite game, and we play the hell out of it.  Stay tuned though, we are going to bring you a beer pong game soon the likes of which NOBODY has seen.  Did we mention, our table is custom and looks like a football field?  Oh, and with orange and blue end zones?  Ayep.
  • Corn Hole – Bags, boards and holes.  We love playing corn hole, it’s a staple for any tailgate!
  • Flip Cup – Yeah, we like drinking games and Flip Cup is one of our favorites.  It’s a quick way to go from 0 – 60, no question about it.
  • Tipsy Ships – Beer Pong meets Battleship.
  • Bucketball – GIANT BEER PONG!

The Gadgets

  • FUBAR – No words can describe this amazing piece of drinking lore.
  • Bongzilla – A 6′ reservoir of beer with separate hoses for many to enjoy at once?  Yes, we have that…and people love it!
  • The Shot Ski – What says Colorado better than a ski, with shot glasses attached to it?  Probably nothing.  If I can’t do shots with three people at once, I just don’t want to.
  • The Duck Bong – Yes, duck bong.  I know we are in Colorado but it’s not THAT kind of bong.  It’s a duck decoy that has been converted to a beer bong, and it’s as bad ass as it sounds.

  1. Hey ! I am part of a group of 6x people who travel from Canada to a different NFL city each year. On October 14th, we will be at the Broncos vs Rams game. We always rent a SUV and get to the stadium with our bqq early to get the best tailgate experience we can.

Your website got my attention. What are your recommendations in term of the best parking LOT for the best experience ?
I see that you use to be in M and now N…what about 2018 ?

    Let me know

  2. Hey David, thanks for coming by! First off, that is bad ass that you guys do that wow I am jealous. Second, it’s tough for parking here. There are a lot of options and it depends on when you plan on coming to town. The most active lot is C which is just south of the stadium but I can promise you that if you aren’t lined up at least a full day (yes, really) in advance you won’t get in. There aren’t many cash spots there. For us in 2018, we are working on those details now and hopefully will know soon. In the mean time, reach out to me directly at mike@sonsofmilehigh.com and we can chat more. Happy to help, and please if you want to swing by and say hey and crack a beer, do it! We are popular with Canadians for some reason 🙂

  3. Coming in next weekend from Northwest Indiana for the Broncos- Bears game. A group of neighbors, we visit a new away game every year. Would like to come to your tailgate, will be using the light rail system. Can we bring beer with us on the light rail?

  4. Hi! It’s up to you, we accept donations at the tailgate, I’d say the average is $20 per person but that is all up to you.
